BAKER COUNTY CONSOLIDATED
9-1-1
DISPATCH CENTER
ABOUT
BAKER DISPATCH
Baker County Consolidated 9-1-1 Dispatch provides a communications system and dispatch
services to 28 local, county, and federal agencies. Under contract it provides dispatch and
records services to the Baker City Police and Fire Departments and to U.S.
Forest Service Law Enforcement personnel assigned to Baker
County. The center
serves a variety of county agencies including: Sheriff, Probation &
Parole, County Road Department, Juvenile Department, District Attorney,
Emergency Management and 13 rural Fire/EMS
Districts. The Center also provides after
hours service in support of the Northeast Oregon Interagency Fire Dispatch Center during fire season.
Baker 9-1-1 manages a narrowband FM radio system consisting of 18
repeaters on nine sites within the county as well as one site located in the
State of Idaho. Those sites
and repeaters provide three separate communications networks: Blue Net (law enforcement); Red Net (Fire/EMS)
and the Road Department/local government net.
All radios in the Baker
County system are interoperable with all other radios as well
as our partner agencies at the State and Federal level and in adjacent
counties. Our radio system has been
completely re-designed and re-built as a result of four Homeland Security
interoperability grants received since 2004.
Baker Dispatch staffs two
fully certified dispatchers 24/7/365.
In major incidents we have the capacity to double normal
staffing. Our full-time and Reserve
Dispatchers are all emergency medical dispatch certified and our training
program exceeds state mandates. For further
