AMATEUR RADIO

The Baker County Consolidated 9-1-1 Dispatch Center in cooperation with the Baker County Office of Emergency Management/Homeland Security coordinates the efforts of FCC licensed amateur radio operators who assist during time of emergency.  As of July 2007, there are thirteen members of this volunteer group. Each of them provides their own equipment and many are trained to operate the County’s two mobile communications units.  Licensed amateur radio operators interested in assisting with this program need to complete ICS 100 and the ARRL Level I Emcomm course prior to application.  Interested parties should contact the Baker County Emergency Coordinator/County Radio Officer at jboyd@baker911.org .
